Brouillard./ Philippe vient me chercher en auto et nous partons à/ Thoury./ Dans l’Atelier de Philippe, ses nouvelles œuvres: [...] Pastel, très grand, une jeune femme assise dans un/ fauteuil vieux rouge, travaillant./ Une dentelle sur la tête, elle est assise près d'une large/ baie avec planchette où sont placés des pots de géraniums/ aux rouges intenses. De cette baie, vision sur la vallée /(Recloses) en automne, tons roux, (très monté de tons). […]" (Gare de Lyon departure 8:38 to Montereau. Fog. Philippe comes to fetch me in a car and we leave for Thoury. In Philippe's studio, his new works: … Big pastel, a young woman seated in an old red chair, working. A lace on her head, she is seated near a large bay window with a ledge with pots of deep red geraniums.
