Notes

In 1943, Theodore Pitcairn purchased a summer house (fig. 1) in Oyster Harbors, Cape Cod. This painting, known from an old photograph and from the "Pitcairn-Cape Cod" inventories (Glencairn archives) was integrated with three other paintings ([PS 536], [PS 532] and [PS 533]) into the wood-paneled walls of the dining room.
